Man due in court in connection with Kilkenny murder

A man in his 30s is due in court later charged in connection with the death of Siobhan Stapleton in Co. Kilkenny.

He will appear before Kilkenny District Court this morning.

51-year-old Siobhan Stapleton was found with serious head injuries in the yard of her home at Glebe Lodge, Kilfane, near Thomastown, last Friday afternoon.

The mother of five was taken to hospital, but died as she was being transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

Investigating officers in Thomastown arrested a man in his 30s on Tuesday for questioning.
