Sam McCauley Chemists to reduce price of prescription medicines

Sam McCauley Chemists Group said today that it will abolish all mark-ups on prescription medicines.

The group, which has 26 stores across Ireland, stated that mark-ups will be replaced by a flat fee of €6.95.

It comes after Boots announced it would lower the price of prescription drugs from this Friday.

Boots said that its cuts would reduce the cost of the majority of prescription medicines by an average of 25%.
