Three reports into literacy and communication skills for young children will be launched today, containing proposals for a new primary school curriculum.

The National Council of Curriculum and Assessement commissioned the studies.

Dr Sarah Fitzpatrick, deputy CEO of the NCCA, suggested that children should be encouraged to develop their oral communication skills and that reading and writing should be in both print and digital formats.
