Two to appear in court in connection with alleged Monaghan extortion

Two men are expected to appear before a special sitting of Cavan District Court this afternoon charged in connection with an alleged extortion in Monaghan

The two, aged 39 and 30, were arrested in Dundalk yesterday morning.

They were detained overnight under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Monaghan Garda Station.
