Hewlett-Packard confirms cutting of golbal workforce

Computer giant Hewlett-Packard has confirmed it is cutting it's global workforce by around 27,000 over the next two years.

The company employs more than 4,000 people in Leixlip, Co. Kildare and Ballybrit in Galway city.

It is not yet known whether the company's Irish operations will be affected by the announcement.
