President to take part in 1916 commemoration
The President will be joined by the Taoiseach and the Justice Minister in Dublin today to commemorate those who died in the 1916 Easter Rising.
Michael D. Higgins will lead the ceremony at Arbour Hill on the city's north side.
Mass will take place at the Church of the Most Sacred Heart there this morning, followed by a procession to the memorial at Arbour Hill, where a wreath will be laid to remember those who died.
Justice Minister Alan Shatter will also hold a reception for guests including relatives of the 1916 leaders.
