The body of a man has been discovered in the River Liffey in Dublin overnight.

A search was launched yesterday evening, after a man, believed to be in his 40s, was seen entering the water off Capel Street Bridge at around a quarter to eight.

A man's body was found in the river at around 3.30 this morning - and has now been removed for a post mortem examination.

Gardaí are investigating, but at this stage say they do not suspect any foul play.
