Tánaiste dismisses Boyd-Barrett's wealth tax proposal
Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore has today branded People Before Profit's wealth tax plans as "irresponsible and incredible".
Eamon Gilmore has dismissed Richard Boyd-Barrett's proposal, urging people to take the "sensible and responsible" route for the EU Fiscal Treaty referendum May 31.
"That's irresponsible and incredible," he said.
"The reality is that we export 80% of everything we produce, the reality is that the euro is our own currency, it's not somebody else's, it's the money in our pocket.
"It is lunatic economics to be suggesting that you collapse your own currency."
