Parties to start campaigning on Fiscal Treaty
Campaigning on the Fiscal Treaty referendum will officially get underway later today.
Minister for the Environment, Phil Hogan, will sign an order for the referendum, with polling day just over four weeks away.
Whilst both the 'Yes' and 'No' side of the debate have been campaigning for some time, the campaign formally gets underway later today, when the Environment Minister signs the order for the referendum.
Labour is due to launch its posters in support of the treaty this morning with Fine Gael's official campaign calling for a 'Yes' vote due to start tomorrow.
Sinn Féin got its effort to secure a 'No' vote officially underway last week.
Fianna Fáil, who are calling for a 'Yes' vote, have criticised the Government parties efforts to date.
But Fine Gael chairman Charlie Flanagan has said, whilst there is a huge job to do, the Government will get it over the line.
