Waterford: Technical team arrives to examine scene of body find
A garda technical team is examining the scene where a man's body was discovered in Waterford city last night.
A post mortem is due to be carried out later. The body of the 60-year-old man remains at the scene at Scotch Marsh Quay for now.
The man was discovered after a 999 call to Waterford garda station shortly before 10pm last night to say an incident had occurred at an apartment on Scotch Marsh Quay.
Gardaí and ambulance arrived and found the man with head injuries. CPR was carried out, and a doctor called, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardaí are continuing to question two people - a 47-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman - who were arrested last night.
It is believed the victim was from Waterford, but he is not thought to have been living at the apartment where his body was found. Most of the apartments in the area are rented.
