Junior Minister defends Dept spend on outside consultants

Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs Joe Costello has defended the €1.3m spent by his Department over the past year on consultancy fees.

It follows a report in today's Irish Times which revealed that Government ministers have spent over €7.1m million on outside consultancy services since coming into office.
