A cannabis growing house with more than 3,000 plants has been uncovered by gardaí, it has emerged today.

A cannabis growing house with more than 3,000 plants has been uncovered by gardaí, it has emerged today.

The seizure, which has en estimated street value of €400,000, was discovered in an isolated house in a rural location in Crefogue, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford.

It is understood the landlord of the rented property raised suspicions over the size of utility bills.

Heating and irrigation equipment used in the cultivation of cannabis plants was also found during the planned search yesterday afternoon.

A Garda spokesman said no arrests have been made.
