Lock of Michael Collins hair withdrawn from sale
A lock of hair from the corpse of Michael Collins has been withdrawn from sale following complaints from the Collins family.
The controversial item was apparently taken from his head while he was lying in state in City Hall in August 1922.
It is one of a number of historical items being offered for sale by Adams Auctioneers.
It had been expected to fetch between €3,000-€5,000, but has been withdrawn following complaints about the appropriateness of the sale.
