A compulsive gambler who stole €35,000 from the investment institution he worked for has been given a suspended sentence at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Detective Garda Derek McGrath said that Edward McDonald (aged 27) was escorted by his bosses at Cardinal Asset Management to the garda station where he voluntarily made admissions to his crime.
