Shatter publishes bill to facilitate data-sharing between countries

Justice Minister Alan Shatter has today published a bill which sets out the procedures to apply for criminal records data to be exchanged with other states.

The Scheme of Criminal Records Information System Bill also means gardaí will be obliged to inform other states when their citizens are convicted of criminal offences in Irish courts.
