Viable bomb found in Belfast park
A bomb has been discovered in North Belfast today.
The device had been in the Alexandra Park area for some time, police said.
Army Technical Officers (ATO) investigated it and declared it viable. The alert was raised yesterday afternoon and the area sealed off.
A Police Service of Northern Ireland spokesman said: “ATO were tasked to the scene and a viable device was discovered. The object is believed to have been there for a long period of time.
“The object has been taken away for further forensic examinations.”
