Queen's University to open China campus
Queen's University in Belfast is to establish a campus in China, in partnership with the China Medical University in Shenyang.
It will see 1,000 Chinese students studying for Queen's Belfast degrees in pharmaceutical science in China.
The President of Queen's University, Peter Gregson, says the partnership will provide many opportunities in China, the UK and Ireland.
“The creation of a joint College with one of China’s top Health Sciences universities is based on a real and vibrant partnership," Mr Gregson said.
"It will provide many opportunities and deliver real outcomes for society in China, in the UK and in
“Today is a red letter day for Queen’s University Belfast, for Northern Ireland and for China.”
The move is set to be officially announced later today at a special ceremony at Queen’s, in the company of Madam Liu Yandong, State Councillor of the People’s Republic of China.
