Cobh awaits Titanic centenary commemoration ship

Descendants of those who died in the Titanic disaster 100 years ago are expected in Cobh, Co Cork, this afternoon after setting sail on a memorial cruise to the site of the wreck.

Today also marks the beginning of a week of commemorative events in the town to mark the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the legendary vessel. Queenstown (now Cobh) was the ship's last port of call before its ill-fated final journey.
