A 37-year-old man has been charged at Blanchardstown District Court today in connection with the seizure of more than €6.5m worth of cannabis last Friday.

A 37-year-old man has been charged at Blanchardstown District Court today in connection with the seizure of more than €6.5m worth of cannabis last Friday.

Aaron Dunne, with an address at Hawthorn Terrace in Drogheda, Co Louth, received four charges, two in relation to the seizure of cannabis herb and two in connection with the seizure of cannabis resin.

More than 800 kilos of both drugs were discovered by gardaí on Friday during searches in Kileen court in Ballyfermot, Dublin and in Naas, Co Kildare.

Mr Dunne was today remanded in custody to appear again at Cloverhill District Court on Wednesday, April 4.

Another man in his 60s, who was arrested in connection with the same incident, remains in Garda custody this afternoon.
