Head of Household Charge agency 'proud' of group's work
The head of the Local Government Management Agency, Paul McSweeney, has said he is "immensely proud" of the group's work in a short period of time.
They are responsible for collecting the Household Charge, for which more than 805,000 people had registered by Saturday's midnight deadline.
Mr McSweeney said he cannot comment on a question of whether the Government had rushed the scheme.
However, he said that if his agency is required for the introduction of the forthcoming property tax, they would need more time for it.
