IMB to outline options for women affected by implants scandal
Help is on the way for women in Ireland who have been affected by the French breast implant scandal.
Up to 1,500 patients here received PIP implants between 2001 and 2010, which are now known to have contained silicone that is unfit for medical use.
The Irish Medicines Board will today update the Joint Committee on Health on the options available to the affected women.
Committee chairman Jerry Buttimer has said they are aware this is a very sensitive issue.:
