Three-year sentence for paranoid schizophrenic who put knife to man's throat

A paranoid schizophrenic who put a knife to a man's throat because he believed he had cursed him with a black magic spell, has been given a three-year sentence.

Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard David Murray, with a previous address at Crossthwaite Park in Dun Laoghaire, was suffering from a serious delusion when he carried out the attack at a house in Blackrock three years ago.
