UNICEF Ireland has raised €75,000 for the Sahel Food Crisis following Mia Farrow's visit to Dublin.

UNICEF Ireland has raised €75,000 for the Sahel Food Crisis following Mia Farrow's visit to Dublin.

The actress and ambassador used her visit to draw attention to the current food crisis in the Sahel area of Africa, where the lives of over one million children are at risk from starvation.

The dry season in the eight affected countries is imminent - which will mean a spike in numbers of children attending feeding centres.

UNICEF is asking the public for donations to help provide food.
