Two arrested in connection with Cavan death
Detectives have arrested two men over the killing of a young man at a St Patrick’s Day house party.
The men, in their 20s, are being questioned about the death of Ciaran O’Connell, 22, in Mullagh, Co Cavan, last weekend.
The pair were arrested at Mullagh and Kells, Co Meath.
They are being detained under section four of the Criminal Justice Act at Bailieborough Garda Station.
Mr O’Connell was seriously injured at a party in a rented house in the Rose Hill area of Mullagh in the early hours of Sunday morning.
He was taken to Cavan General Hospital and transferred to Beaumont Hospital, where he later died.
