The jury in the trial of a Cork man accused of the rape and sexual abuse of his younger sister has been discharged after failing to reach a verdict.

The jury of seven men and five women had been deliberating for almost 10 hours on day six of the trial when they informed Mr Justice Paul Carney they would not be able to agree on a verdict.
