Kenny to conclude US trip with White House visit

Taoiseach Enda Kenny will complete his five-day trip to the United States today with a visit to the White House.

Mr Kenny will present President Barack Obama with the traditional bowl of shamrock for St Patrick's Day.

The Taoiseach arrived in Washington yesterday and was guest of honour at a gala dinner hosted by the American Ireland Fund last night.

This morning he will attend breakfast with Vice President Joe Biden, before travelling to the White House.

Mr Kenny and Mr Obama are expected to discuss issues including the economy and the undocumented Irish.

The Taoiseach will then attend the speaker's lunch on Capitol Hill, before wrapping up the trip with a reception in the Irish Embassy and a party in the White House.
