Man dies in Clare road crash

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road crash in East Clare.

An 83-year-old man died after his car left the road and struck an ESB pole in the village of Killaloe.

It happened at around 9.30am this morning.

The scene remains sealed off while a technical examination takes place.

A post mortem will be carried out at Limerick Regional Hospital later today.
