Delegations from regional governments in Canada and Australia are in Dublin today as part of a drive to attract thousands of Irish workers.
They'll be among the 80 exhibitors at the Working Abroad Expo event at Dublin's RDS this weekend.
Meanwhile, the computer giant Microsoft is also hosting an event aimed at reskilling people for careers in the high-tech sector.
The free Career Reboot event in Sandyford is aimed at people with level 8 qualifications who are seeking to reskill via HEA-funded technology courses.
Paul Rellis of Microsoft Ireland said its partner companies in the tech sector are seeking to fill at least 1,000 vacancies around the country.
"The technology industry is a fantastic industry and demand for people is exceeding supply," he said.
"All we are trying to do is bridge that."
