Govt set up committee to integrate rural transport services

The Government is seeking to eliminate any cross-over and duplication of rural transport services as part of plans to overhaul the sector.

More than €200m is spent each year by State bodies providing services such as school buses and non-emergency health care transport.

The Minister for Public and Commuter Transport, Alan Kelly, has said the measures will lead to the creation of more and improved rural transport services.
