Florence Noonan funeral to take place today

The funeral Mass will take place today of Florence Noonan, the late wife of the Finance Minister Michael Noonan.

The 68-year-old passed away on Thursday night surrounded by her family, after suffering a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's.

Last night, hundreds of people, including politicians, senior gardaí, and stars from the small screen paid their respects to the former school teacher as she lay in repose in Griffins Funeral Home in Limerick.

Her funeral Mass will take place this afternoon at 2pm in St. Paul's Church in Dooradoyle, with burial afterwards in Mount Trenchard Cemetery in Loughill.
