Customs seize illicit fuel from Limerick filling station
Officers from Revenue's Customs Service have seized 8,400 litres of illicit fuel from a filling station in Co Limerick.
The diesel with an approximately retail value of €13,400 was confirmed to be illicit fuel on which the appropriate rate of excise duty had not been paid.
A file is being prepared for consideration of criminal proceedings in this case.
The operation last night is part of Revenue's ongoing activities to tackle fuel fraud.
