Four arrested in connection with car hijacking

Four suspected car hijackers have been arrested by police in west Belfast.

Two women were pulled out of a parked car in the Slievegallion Drive area by masked men, including one who was armed with a knife.

The PSNI said the stolen car was stopped by police in Dunmurry following a short pursuit.

The suspects, aged 15, 17 and two aged 18, remain in custody.

The incident happened at around 12.55am this morning.

Meanwhile, the Office of the Police Ombudsman is investigating a three-car collision involving a PSNI vehicle just after 10pm last night.

It is suspected that one of the cars involved was a stolen vehicle.

Two people were arrested at the scene, at a garage on Clifton Street in north Belfast.
