Three arrested after handgun seized in north Dublin

Three men were arrested today after gardaí stopped two cars in north Dublin and seized a handgun and ammunition.

Gardaí on mobile patrol near Dublin Airport stopped and searched the cars on the Swords Road shortly before 1.30pm this afternoon.

All three occupants of the cars, one 33-year-old and two aged 35, were arrested.

They are being detained at Ballymun and Santry Garda Stations under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.
