Another body has been found close to where a trawler sank off West Cork three weeks ago.

Searches have been continuing near Union Hall since the Tit Bonhomme crashed onto rocks near Union Hall.

The search operation for skipper Michael Hayes and crewman Saeid Ali Eldin had been scaled back in recent days, but small teams had continued to search at sea and along the shore.

It is thought the discovery of a body was made by local Garda Chief Superintendent Tom Hayes, who is the brother of the missing skipper.

Five men aboard the trawler drowned when it foundered as it returning to its home port of Union Hall just over three weeks ago.

Three bodies had been found following intensive efforts by the Coastguard, local trawlers and volunteers.

The families of the missing men are being kept informed of the latest developments and the search operation, albeit scaled back, is continuing.
