Arranmore Island murder trial adjourned

The trial of a man charged with murdering another man on Arranmore Island two years ago has been adjourned today as the court was told the accused required medical attention.

Stephen Boyle is accused of murdering 19-year-old Paul Boyle at Early's Bar, Leabgarrow, Arranmore, Co Donegal on October 3, 2009.

Mr Boyle (aged 41) of Austen House, Cambridge Road, Kilburn Park in London has pleaded not guilty of murder, but guilty of manslaughter at the Central Criminal Court.

Mr Justice Patrick McCarthy told the jury the trial could "not proceed for the moment" as the accused needed medical attention.

The trial will resume tomorrow before a jury of six men and six women.
