Search resumes for man missing off Louth coast

The search has resumed for a fisherman who is missing, feared drowned, after he fell overboard from a trawler off the Louth coast yesterday.

The Lithuanian man in his 30s had been on board The Zenith when he fell into the sea near Clogher Head around lunchtime.

The LE Ciara is co-ordinating the operation, assisted by the Clogher Head lifeboat and the coastguard helicopter, as well as three fishing vessels.

Today's search is concentrating on an area about 19 miles east of Clogher Head.

Visibility is said to be good, despite rough seas this morning.
