Mountain Rescue Ireland conference begins today
The Dublin and Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team hosts the annual Mountain Rescue Ireland Conference in Glendalough, Wicklow this weekend.
Delegates from 12 Mountain Rescue teams will attend to discuss all aspects of the future development of Mountain Rescue in Ireland.
The event will cover a wide range of topics including the use of software such as smartphone apps to aid the location of casualties in the mountains.
The event coincides with the release of the Dublin and Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team Annual Report for 2011, which highlights 70 operations completed by the volunteers and the rescue of 16 people in a single day last October.
