Limerick water 'showing signs of improvement'
Limerick County Council has said tests being carried out on water from the River Deel in Askeaton are showing signs of improvement.
Water restrictions are still affecting around 1,500 households in west Limerick, after 2,000 litres of oil seeped into the river from a commercial property last week.
Tankers will continue to provide drinking water at locations in Askeaton, Ballysteen, Foynes, Shanagolden and Kilcornan.
A helpline facility at 061 496 493 will also operate today, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
