A Kerry District Court judge, charged with not displaying a valid NCT certificate on his car, has adjourned his own case.

Judge James O'Connor's case was listed for mention at Caherciveen District Court, over which he was presiding today.

The judge is charged with not having a valid NCT certificate on his car at Newmarket Street, Caherciveen on July 21, 2011.

A request was made for the state to furnish all documents and Garda notebooks relating to the case.

Judge O'Connor adjourned the case for mention only at Caherciveen District Court on March 15 next.

The President of the District Court will then have to decide a date for hearing with an independent judge.
