Crewman stable as search continues for five missing off trawler
A search operation is continuing off the coast of West Cork for five fishermen, missing and feared drowned, after their trawler sank this morning.
The vessel, called the Tit Bonhomme sank in heavy seas close to the entrance to Union Hall harbour at around 6am.
One crewman, who is Egyptian, was rescued from the sea by a Coastguard helicopter and is now said to be in a stable condition in hospital.
His five crewmates, two from Ireland and three from Egypt, are still missing.
