Job losses expected as unions to meet Ulster Bank management today

Trade unions are meeting Ulster Bank management this afternoon in an attempt to ascertain the extent of job losses at the company.

The bank is expected to announced hundreds of redundancies tomorrow.

The expected announcement part of a restructuring plan aimed at saving €50m as it scales back its international banking.

It will be the second time Ulster Bank has shed jobs in just four years. One thousand staff were laid off in 2009.
