Man for court over post office robberies

A man is due in court this morning charged in connection with an attempted post office robbery in Co Wicklow.

A man believed to have been armed with a gun entered the premises in Arklow at 2.10pm on Tuesday afternoon.

He left the scene with nothing and no-one was injured.

A 25-year-old man was arrested close to Ashford on Tuesday night and is due to appear before Dun Laoghaire District Court this morning.

The suspect was also charged in relation to a robbery at Avoca Post Office that occurred the same day.
