Solicitor to be sentenced for theft
A Dublin solicitor is due to be sentenced today for stealing more than €9,000 from a woman almost five years ago.
Liam Davis of Avondale Lawn, Blackrock was charged at Dublin District Court in November under the Theft and Fraud Offences Act.
He has pleaded guilty to stealing €9,259 from Martina Mulligan in Dublin on February 8, 2007.
The court had heard that the stolen money was meant to be used to pay stamp duty.
Judge Timothy Lucey remanded the 57-year-old solicitor on bail for a sentencing hearing today.
