Economist McCarthy: Govt will have to revisit tax and social-welfare rates

The author of the An Bord Snip Nua report believes the Government will have to revisit the issues of welfare rates, income tax and the Croke Park Agreement in the coming years.

Colm McCarthy has echoed the sentiments of two reports from members of the bailout troika in predicting the Government will have a tough time keeping promises not to change tax bands and credits.
