Gardaí appeal for witnesses after Dublin crash leaves man seriously hurt

Gardaí are appealing for witneses to a Dublin crash which has left a man in a serious condition in hospital.

The crash happened at about 11.30am on Christmas morning on Blackditch Road, close to the junction with Oranmore Road, in Ballyfermot.

The victim is a 20-year-old man who was driving a red Citreon Saxo. The car struck an electricity pole.

He was taken to St James' Hospital and has since been transferred to Beaumont Hospital, where he is in a serious condition.

Several witnesses say a small, dark-coloured car was in the area at the time of the crash. Gardaí would like to speak to the driver of that vehicle.

Anyone with information is urged to contact gardaí at Ballyfermot station.
