Dublin hospital sees winter vomiting outbreak

Members of the public are being asked to curtail their visits to St Vincents hospital in Dublin following an outbreak of the winter vomiting virus.

The acting chief executive at the hospital, Bill Maher, has said ten cases have been identified to date and all appropriate steps are being taken to limit its spread.

The virus is believed to be coming from the community, and they have asked people to only attend the emergency department if necessary, and not to bring children to the hospital.
