Tourism and Transport Minister Leo Varadkar has admitted people in Ireland are worse off this Christmas than last, but has said the country is making progress.

In his 'end of year' report for his Department, he has said projects that have not been cut, like the linking up of the two LUAS lines in Dublin, will be achieved.
