A man caught with two shotguns down his trousers has been jailed for three years at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

A man caught with two shotguns down his trousers has been jailed for three years at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Emmet McAuley, aged 28, was arrested during a surveillance operation by gardaí who got a tip-off about a weapons handover.

The guns had been taken during a burglary in Tipperary several months previously.

Mr McAuley, of Colthurst Road, Huntington Glen, Lucan in Dublin pleaded guilty to possession of the two guns at Station Road, Clondalkin on May 17, 2010.

He has nine previous convictions including robbery and theft, and the court heard all his offending is connected to his drug addiction.
