The Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore has said banks will be hauled in by the Government again, if necessary, to force them to pass on interest rate cuts to mortgage holders.

The monthly meeting of the European Central bank is underway and it is expected there will be a rate cut of at least a quarter of one percent announced this lunchtime.
