Savings of €96m from Garda, Defence Forces budgets

Savings of €79m are to be procured from the budget of the Garda Síochána with cuts to payroll and pensions, overtime, travel and subsistence and maintenance of garda stations.

Some €17m will be saved from the budget of the Defence Forces with personnel and other non-pay reductions.
